What can I put in the skip?
You can place most general household, garden, and construction waste in the skip. However, we cannot accept the following items:
Asbestos
Fridges or freezers
Tyres
Gas bottles
Oils or any other hazardous waste
If you are unsure whether an item can be disposed of, please contact us before loading the skip.
How long can I keep the skip?
Prices are based on a seven-day hire period. If you require the skip for longer than seven days, this can be arranged for a small additional charge—please let us know in advance.
Where can the skip be placed?
Skips can be placed on your private property, such as a driveway or garden. If you require boards to protect your driveway or lawn, these must be requested at the time of booking.
If the skip cannot be placed on private property and needs to be located on a public road or highway, a skip permit will be required. For Bradford Council, this is an additional £40 charge.
What does the cost of my skip include?
The price of your skip hire includes:
Delivery of the skip
Collection after the hire period
Responsible disposal of the waste
If required, we can also arrange a skip permit through the relevant local authority at an additional cost.
Do I need a Permit?
Yes, a permit is required if the skip is placed on a public road or highway. We will arrange the permit with the appropriate local authority for an additional charge (permit fees are set by the council covering your area). Permit applications usually take one working day.
If a permit cannot be obtained and no private land is available, we also offer a wait and load service.
Is the skip safe on my property?
Liability for the skip remains with the customer for the duration of the hire. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the skip is used safely and not damaged (for example, by fire).
We cannot be held responsible for damage to driveways, walls, or surrounding property where the customer has requested placement on their land, unless the damage is caused by driver negligence.
How full can the skip be?
By law, skips must not be overfilled. Waste must not exceed the top edge of the skip to ensure safe transportation. Overfilled skips will not be collected under any circumstances.
